April 2021 - Article by Rubin & Doan featured in The College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers 2021 Spring Newsletter
Arnold Rubin and Catherine Krenz Doan author the article, The Illinois Supreme Court Scrutinizes the "Arising Out Of" Requirement: Does an Injury to a Sous Chef in the Kitchen Constitute an Employment Risk or Neutral Risk*.
The article addresses the importance of the recent case of McAllister v. The Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, 2020 IL 124848, 2020 WL 5668970 (2020) in workers' compensation law in Illinois. After a long journey through the Illinois court system, the Illinois Supreme Court found that the knee injury in the McAllister case arose out of the claimant's employment and was compensable.

March 2021 - Arnold G. Rubin presents at the 8th annual program of the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) Workers' Compensation Institute
Mr. Rubin discusses five recent Illinois Appellate Court cases in his session "Case Law Update." Mr. Rubin focuses on cases that have had a significant impact on the practice during the past year for both Petitioner and Respondent. The McAllister case and the amendment to Rule 23 are also discussed. This year, IICLE's Workers' Compensation Institute program Practicing in the Post-COVID Era was held via live webcast on March 4, 2021.

Attorney Arnold G. Rubin was quoted in a Chicago Daily Law Bulletin article dated April 18, 2014 about his representation of an ironworker injured in the August 19, 2005 collapse of a bridge at the junction of Interstate 80 and Interstate 294 that resulted in the death of another ironworker.
